American Technicians is operated by Alloy Infrastructure, LLC ("we" or "us"). This policy explains how we handle information from our website and text messages.

What we collect

When you fill out our form, we collect your mobile number, first and last name, current shop (if you give it), specialty, level, years of experience, pay plan, pay and related details like hours flagged or bonus, ZIP code, commute preference and timing. We also record when and how you agreed to receive texts, your IP address and browser type, and how you found our site.

How we use it

We use your information to find job opportunities that fit you, to text you about those opportunities and your profile, to run and improve our service, and to create aggregated pay and market data as described below.

Pay and market data

We may combine the pay, specialty, level, experience and location information you give us with information from other technicians to create aggregated statistics, such as typical hourly or flat rates for a specialty in a metro area. We may use these statistics to benchmark offers, and we may publish them or share them with shops, partners and the public, for example in market reports.

Anything we publish or share outside American Technicians is aggregated and de-identified. It never includes your name, phone number, current shop or other details that identify you, and we only report figures for groups large enough that no individual technician can be picked out. We don't try to re-identify anyone from aggregated data, and we don't allow those we share it with to do so. If aggregated data is ever combined with information that identifies you, we treat it as your personal information under this policy.

Who we share it with

Shops. American Technicians is free for technicians. Shops pay us for our recruiting service, for example through a subscription or a fee when they hire someone we introduce. When you sign up, you direct us to share your profile with shops that may be a fit for you. We describe your specialty, level, experience, pay and ZIP code to those shops without your name, contact details or current shop. We share your name and contact details with a shop only after you tell us you want an intro. Shops may use your information only to consider you for a job. We never contact your current employer or show them your profile.

Service providers. We use service providers, like our text messaging provider, to operate the service. They may process your information only on our behalf.

Legal and business transfers. We may disclose information when we believe the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others. If American Technicians is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of its business or assets, your information may be transferred as part of that deal and will stay subject to this policy.

We don't sell your information

We don't sell or rent your personal information to data brokers, advertisers or anyone else. Sharing your profile with shops at your direction, as described above, is how our service works, and it isn't a sale of your information.

Mobile numbers and text message opt-in data are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share them only with our text messaging providers, as needed to deliver the messages you signed up for.

Text messages

If you opt in, we'll send recruiting texts about job opportunities and your profile. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. See our Terms for details.
